Road Supervisor Brandon Rowe updated commissioners on the Sterling Lane bridge, noting the concrete bridge built in 1952 suffered structural failure during a recent inspection. Rowe said staff will install two culverts as a temporary measure using an existing six-foot culvert from the North Eden project while pursuing longer-term replacement funding.
The commission also directed staff to send a letter to the contractor confirming county approval of a change order substituting wood posts for T-posts, which had been made with landowner approval. The steps are temporary and preparatory as the county develops options and funding strategies for a full replacement.
