City staff explained the mechanics of the Utah Retirement Systems Tier 2 pickup for public-safety employees and presented the numbers to the council. Finance staff told the council the current total contribution rate was about 29.56% and that the coming year's total would be roughly 30.31%. Because only two city public-safety employees are in Tier 2, staff recommended the city pick up the small delta and council approved that motion by voice vote.
