Staff identifies 221 housing-related programs and flags fragmentation, inconsistent data

Em Stone and staff told the task force the inventory of state programs shows roughly 221 programs that touch housing, but staff cautioned many are housing-adjacent and some should remain in other agencies. The presentation argued that fragmented data—39 separate data programs that don't talk to one another—undermines the state's ability to measure progress and to coordinate funding and accountability.
"We have to be able to say what we're doing. And so that measurement piece is is gonna be critical," Julia said when describing the need for centralized data. Staff plans to review each program for fit with a new Department of Housing and to post the program-level analysis on the task force website for subcommittee review.
