Council authorized using $16,799 from engineering/professional services as the local match for a $250,000 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) planning award to review Safe Routes to School in the Upper Valley.

Mayor Jeff Jensen told the council Lincoln County has been awarded $250,000 from the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) to conduct a comprehensive planning review of the Safe Routes to School network. The county requested Afton assist with the local match requirement of $16,799.00; Council Member Scott Griffith moved to allocate $16,799.00 from engineering/professional services and to authorize Town Administrator Violet Sanderson to coordinate with county officials. Council Member Will Wilkes seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
