Commission recommends landscape-alignment amendment for Meta stadium development

Planning staff asked the commission to recommend a narrow amendment to the stadium development agreement to harmonize landscaping requirements between two development agreements covering Meta-owned land and to remove a small parcel sold to Rocky Mountain Power for infrastructure.
Marcus Draper (staff) said the amendment would allow consistent landscaping standards across the development and permit Meta (Stadium LLC) to either plant trees on site or donate vouchers or funds for trees to be planted in city parks. "They agreed that they would plant trees or give us vouchers for trees or whatever," Draper said when describing the tradeoff intended to preserve water-conservation measures on private property while benefiting city parks.
The commission voted 4–0 to forward a positive recommendation to city council. The amendment also cleans the agreement language to remove the parcel transferred to Rocky Mountain Power from the development agreement's scope.
