Mayor: First Street work progressing; WWTP inspection set for next week

Mayor Dwayne Paris reported Aug. 25 that the First Street project is "moving right along," and that school-related work will overlap with the project's final week as the school year begins. Paris said the school’s parking lot was completed and flashing signs are installed on Second Street.
Paris also said the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) will undergo an inspection next week and that staff adjustments are in place: "Kirk is doing a great job and he is able to take some of the work off Wes," Paris reported. Clerk-Treasurer Tina Davidson told the council she had "a good vacation and is glad to be back" and said she will begin work on the payroll budget. Paris additionally noted that Monte is working on identifying a reserve and has leads and an application in process.
