Staff explained the city already uses pieces of the IWORK suite for permitting and community development and that adding the code module would allow the new code compliance officer to access permitting records in the field and process cases more effectively. The additional cost to add code functionality was described as approximately $4,500 plus a one-time $500 implementation fee; staff said that to avoid prohibitive implementation charges the contract needs to be extended to a three-year term. "So this will be locking us, both Tyson and Code, into a 3 year contract with them, just increasing the cost by the $4,000," the staff presenter said.
Council asked about annual vs. one-time implementation costs and approved Resolution 25-18.
