County approves about $5,000 in change orders for courthouse project

Marshall County approved four change orders for the courthouse OPN Architects/Garling Construction contract totaling several thousand dollars for sealing, hydrant removal, access panels and ceiling scope changes; Buildings and Grounds Director said the net increase remains within the project budget.
The Marshall County Board of Supervisors approved Contract Change Orders #3–#6 for the county courthouse project on April 22, covering a Dow 758 primary seal ($1,669.50), removal of a hydrant ($726.37), two 24x36 access panels with detention deadlocks ($1,363.79), and deletion and reinstallation of ceiling work in several rooms (net $4,724.43). Motions for each change order were moved and seconded and carried 3-0.
Lucas Baedke, Marshall County Buildings and Grounds Director, told the board the total increase from the change orders approved at the meeting added about $5,000 to the project and falls within the approved project budget. The board authorized the chair to sign the change orders.
