The Ionia County Board of Commissioners on June 10 adopted a resolution formally approving the county Hazard Mitigation Plan. Emergency Management Director Sgt. Straubel presented the plan and recommended adoption; Commissioner Terence Frewen moved the resolution and Commissioner David Hodges supported the motion.
The resolution was adopted by roll call vote with six members recorded as voting yes: Hodges, Wirtz, Hesche, Kelley, Shattuck and Frewen. The approval positions the county to pursue coordinated mitigation actions and aligns local hazard planning with regional emergency management priorities. The board did not record any no votes on the measure.
