Council declines to act on $5,000 SWTDD funding request for Economic Development Specialist
A request to contribute $5,000 toward a Southwest Tennessee Development District (SWTDD) Economic Development Specialist position failed for lack of a motion; the board noted the Chamber already employs a certified economic development professional.

Mayor Terry F. Bell reported that SWTDD hired John Scott as an Economic Development Specialist and that SWTDD asked participating cities and counties to consider contributing $5,000 to help fund the position. Recorder Jim E. Garland said SWTDD had not provided a list of participating jurisdictions; Alderman Mark A. Barber noted the local Chamber has a certified ECD person. No board member made a motion and the item failed due to lack of a motion.
