Alvin Rischel, emergency manager and deputy 911 director, reviewed 911 and central dispatch statistics and told the committee these reports will be provided on a bi-monthly basis going forward. Rischel said the department is preparing for a LEIN audit scheduled for March 11 and listed upcoming professional conferences including the National Homeland Security Conference in May and the National Active Assailant Conference in June.
Rischel also noted Region 7 Lt. Michael de Castro has announced a planned retirement effective Sept. 30, which could affect regional staffing and coordination. The committee received the dispatch statistics packet and asked staff to continue providing regular updates.
