Planning commission backs administrative changes to SALDO to clarify application completeness

The Salem Township Planning Commission on March 5 recommended revisions to the township's Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO) intended to let the township adopt administrative procedures that define when an application is complete. Commissioner Connie Mattei framed the change as a way to avoid amending the SALDO each time the township wants to change procedural deadlines or submission timing. The motion recommending revisions was moved by John Durco and seconded by Paul Holleran and passed unanimously.
Mattei said the goal is to set requirements by resolution so "the application and any administrative procedures that we set by resolution will determine if an application is complete." The commission recorded that Solicitor Falatovich forwarded draft language amending Section 302 and adding 308.F to the SALDO; the recommendation sends those proposed revisions forward for further review and action by the appropriate township bodies.
Next steps: the commission's recommendation will be transmitted to the Supervisors and solicitor for formal consideration, and any resolution or ordinance change will follow the township's public-review procedures.
