Parker County to replace HyperReach with CodeRed (Crisis24) after price increase

Parker County Commissioners Court voted Dec. 8 to cancel its HyperReach mass-messaging service agreement effective Jan. 7, 2026, and authorized executing a CodeRed (Crisis24) scope of work effective Jan. 8, 2026.
County staff told the court HyperReach’s cost rose by $10,000, prompting a search for alternatives. “The price on that went up $10,000, so that was the reason for the change,” a county staff member said during the discussion. Commissioners approved the cancellation and the new scope of work by unanimous vote.
Officials said the new system will support the same resident alerts — phone calls, texts and severe-weather notifications — and provide additional internal notification features such as precinct-specific groups for incident response. Commissioners asked staff to prepare a public briefing on CodeRed’s capabilities so residents can better understand sign-up options and functions.
The court’s action was procedural: the motion to cancel HyperReach and to authorize the County Judge to sign the CodeRed scope of work both passed 5–0.
