Recovery group Foxhole describes programs and asks county for support

Members of the Foxhole recovery organization spoke during public comment to describe their peer-support services, programming, and community partnerships and to put faces to their work in Winona.
Mariah Montgomery, president of the Foxhole board, and board member Rick Montgomery told the board about Foxhole's recovery-support services and programming, saying the group provides peer meetings, meditation, recovery support, and community events that have served more than 100 people since the organization opened.
"We support and guide the community by developing personal connections through recovery support meetings, providing a safe, sober environment for all," Mariah Montgomery told the board, listing programs such as Tai Chi, 12-step meetings, and a monthly "operation gratitude" meal. Rick Montgomery spoke about his own recovery and said the organization "saves lives" by offering nonjudgmental peer support.
Commissioners thanked them for sharing their experiences and for the work Foxhole does in the community.
