County staff report SNAP caseloads, one-time contribution estimate in budget preview
Winona County staff reported an estimated one-time SNAP-related county contribution of about $92,006 for 2027 and said they will confirm caseload counts for official inclusion in August; a 2023 internet lookup cited 3,176 SNAP recipients in the county.

Administrator Hulte told the board the packet includes the latest SNAP information and that there may be a one-time county contribution listed for 2027 of roughly $92,006 but cautioned the figure is preliminary. "As soon as we get a little more confirmation on that, that'll be part of the more concrete information you'll have in August," Hulte said.
