Plan Commission reviews Comprehensive Plan progress, schedules next outreach event

Miami County planners reported that data collection and analysis for the Comprehensive Plan are complete and outreach is underway; the next public event will be the first Monday of the County Fair and commissioners suggested promoting it via the County Facebook page.
Planner Corey Roser updated the Miami County Plan Commission on June 10 that the Comprehensive Plan process has moved through data collection and is now focusing on outreach. Roser said data collection, GIS and planning data compilation, and demographic/physical analysis are complete; the steering committee has been identified and outreach materials prepared. A Steering Committee meeting was held Dec. 3, 2025, and a public open house occurred Feb. 12, 2026.
Commissioner Brent Pomerhn asked about the next outreach event date; Roser said the next event is scheduled for the first Monday of the County Fair. Commissioners suggested promoting the outreach via the County Facebook page to increase public participation.
