Highway Superintendent Jerry Ault presented a quote from Enneking Pressure Cleaning to repair the Burkhart Bridge with a polymeric overlay priced at $81,948.63. Ault said the work would involve cutting out deteriorated deck areas, replacing joints and applying the overlay — "This would be like what was done on the Honeytown bridge," and it would require closing the bridge for about a week to complete the work.<br><br>Commissioner Drew Storey noted that polymeric overlays can extend deck life about 7–15 years, calling it a valid treatment for a sound deck; Commissioner Matt Reedy cautioned that full replacement would be a multi‑million dollar project and would require railroad specifications because the bridge spans railroad tracks. The board left the bid open and directed Storey to review options with Ault before further action.
