Jackson County awarded $760,000 through KDOT program for Circleville bridge project

BG Consultants engineer Brady Hedstrom told the Board Jackson County was granted $760,000 in state funds through KDOT’s Kansas Local Bridge Improvement Program (KLBIP) for a replacement north of Circleville at J4 and 256 Roads. Hedstrom said the design is a box culvert that will not require routine inspections and that the county has two years to complete the project; bidding is expected in 2027 with a likely late-2027 start.
Under the grant terms Hedstrom said the county is responsible for design costs and 10% of construction and inspection. County Counselor Todd Luckman will review the grant agreement at next week’s meeting before the Board takes further action.
