Directors reported operational updates to the board on April 13, 2026. Parks & Recreation Director Luke Williams said the department managed 96 teams with 1,048 participants in the 2025–26 athletic year across soccer, football, basketball and spring sports. The department has soft-launched a RecDesk community portal for online registration and plans to expand it to facility reservations. Williams also described senior programming (881 attendees in 2025) and a new inclusive summer camp, Patrick County Pals, planned for July.
Building Inspections Inspector Nick D'Addario told the board that construction values in the county more than doubled since 2024 (from approximately $2.5 million to over $5 million) and the first quarter of 2026 saw 96 permits. The department is implementing the 2021 Uniform Statewide Building Code adopted in 2025 and is managing FEMA flood-zone remapping and property-owner outreach using GIS.
Maintenance Director Robbie Mitchell described major repairs completed in county facilities and noted the department operates with a three-person crew handling emergency and scheduled work, achieving cost savings through vendor changes and in-house repairs.
