The Patrick County Board voted to approve temporary and permanent easements for two parcels tied to the Route 8 bridge replacement project.
VDOT staff told the board that the easement documents had been revised per the board's earlier requests and returned for signature to allow the project to proceed. The chair asked for motions separately for Parcel 3 and Parcel 4; both motions were made, seconded and passed with recorded 'aye' votes from Mister Marshall, Mister Kendrick, Mister Wood and the chair.
During discussion, supervisors asked about the timeline for the bridge project and whether other nearby work (Ashby Road) would be completed before major work began. VDOT staff confirmed current plans call for Ashby Road work to be finished prior to the bridge construction and that planned detours would reroute traffic rather than fully close the route.
