EAC lines up PennEnvironment presentation as first step on single‑use plastic ban

The EAC is pursuing an informational presentation on single‑use plastic bans and has contacted PennEnvironment to brief the Board of Supervisors. The chair said Farren Savitz (PennEnvironment) is available for Aug. 19 or Sept. 2 and that the EAC will press for an informational presentation to "get our foot in the door" and learn what additional evidence or supports the Board would want.
Members cautioned that support among board members varies and encouraged collecting information on what would make hesitant supervisors comfortable. "If you could ask them about a pathway to potentially being open to passing this, what we would need to…what information we would need to get," one member said. The EAC agreed the initial presentation should be strictly informational and will follow up with individual board members before scheduling.
