Elizabeth Carter of Shermans Bridge Road told the board approximately 470 people in town were without power and asked whether the board would postpone public input to allow affected residents to participate. Carter also later questioned whether the long-term $38 million bond had been issued and whether its term had been accounted for in the rate model.
Kim Cook (Lincoln Road) said the only publicly available agenda was the June 17 posting and noted one town website listed a 6:30 p.m. start time; she also said the calcium chloride treatment is "now wearing thin and the dust is starting to materialize," and referenced prior comments about DPW maintaining private roads. Director Holder replied that the agenda posted last week and affirmed by the Town Clerk showed a 6:00 p.m. start, and later clarified DPW sometimes grades private dirt roads for emergency access but does not place materials on them.
Select Board member Carol Martin noted the Wayland Community Fund can help residents who cannot pay higher water bills, and Judy Ling mentioned the Circuit Breaker program as another assistance option for eligible residents.
