Council authorizes conditional talks to keep grid cameras active while seeking cost-share agreement

Police and city staff told council the city currently holds cameras in its name that Flock operates in the commercial grid; the prior reimbursement agreement with East Fort Bend has expired and the partner asked the city to cover 50% of annual costs going forward. Staff warned that if payment is not made the cameras could be turned off promptly and argued the cameras have been valuable in investigations.
