Treasury will produce study on including independent contractors in NEST
Staff told the Board they are preparing a feasibility study, with Pew and DETR assistance, on whether independent contractors can be included in the Nevada Employee Savings Trust; a draft is expected in November and a final report in December for transmittal to the Legislature.

Chief of Staff Kirsten Van Ry told trustees the office is working on a study about including independent contractors in the Nevada Employee Savings Trust, pursuant to section 36 of Senate Bill 305. Van Ry said Treasury is pulling Nevada-specific data with help from the DETR economist and that Pew has agreed to assist.
