Board OKs Expanded Learning partnerships and multiple grant-funded program purchases

The board voted 4–0 to approve the Shafter Recreation agreement and the proposed purchases. Items presented included ZTAG ($31,209.75, paid from a 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant), ActiveFloor (21st CCLC grant funding), School of Beats (21st CCLC grant funding) and a Flex Farm indoor hydroponics system (21st CCLC grant funding). Cherry also presented a professional development and staffing proposal with Consult 4 KIDS; the board approved the proposal, which the transcript records as fully funded by ELOP. The transcript included a staffing figure that appears to be a transcription error; the district noted the program is grant-funded and will provide final contract figures.
