Board OKs Expanded Learning partnerships and multiple grant-funded program purchases
The Richland Board approved agreements and grant-funded purchases for the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program, including a staffing partnership with Shafter Recreation and equipment purchases (ZTAG, ActiveFloor, School of Beats, Flex Farm). All items were presented as fully funded by ELOP or 21st Century grants.

ELOP Coordinator Jaime Cherry told the Board of Trustees the district will expand staffing and program offerings for the 2026–27 Expanded Learning Opportunities Program. Cherry recommended approval of an agreement with the Shafter Recreation and Park District to recruit, train and manage staff for the program and presented a package of grant-funded equipment purchases intended to support STEAM and inclusive enrichment activities.
