Commission OKs two-lot split for Combs parcel after easement reduction approved

The Preble County Planning Commission voted March 19 to accept Case 1644, a proposal by agent Stephen Pope on behalf of property owner George H. Combs to divide a roughly 9.996-acre agricultural parcel into two 5.05-acre tracts to support a new home on the north tract.
Stephen Pope told the board the owner intends to build on the north tract and that the County Engineer granted an easement reduction, noting, "he did accept that reduction of 4 feet for that easement." Board members questioned whether the driveway would be shared; Pope said the existing house retains its asphalt driveway while the north tract would use and maintain the gravel access. The motion to accept the case under Sections 801 and 1103.01, Items B–I passed on a roll-call vote with all members present voting yes.
