On second reading the Board enacted Ordinance No. 2026-17 to amend the Land Development Code for home-based businesses, bringing county regulations into compliance with Florida Statute 559.955 as enacted in House Bill 403. Jacob Smith, AICP, Planning Division Manager, provided the staff overview and there was no public comment.
The ordinance updates Articles II, III and XII of the LDC to add statutorily required criteria for home-based businesses and removes language no longer consistent with state law. The motion to enact the ordinance carried 5-0.
