The Barry County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution #26-19 on July 28, 2026, to contract with Professional Code Inspections of Michigan (PCI) to provide State Construction Code services, including administration and enforcement of the building, electric, mechanical, and plumbing codes. The contract includes an adopted fee schedule and takes effect Aug. 1, 2026, continuing through Dec. 31, 2031. The motion (moved by David Hatfield and seconded by Jon Smelker) passed with ayes from all members present; one member was absent.
