Board accepts multiple resignations, approves reassignments and retirements

The Board of Education of Georgetown‑Ridge Farm Community Unit District #4 approved a series of human resources actions at its April 27, 2026 meeting, including multiple resignations, a new hire and a reassignment.

Board member Greg Emmert moved and Mark Learnard seconded the HR slate. The motion covered acceptance of resignations for aides Ally Cobble and Kierstan Cooprider; junior high secretary Jeremy Stark; high school athletic/physical education teacher Andrew Nicholson; high school math teacher Taylor Balgeman; 7th–8th social studies teacher Misti Balgeman; 7th–8th science teacher Shelby Franzen; and 6th grade ELA teacher Jennifer Gardner. The board also approved reassignment of Erin Meeker to the MMJH secretary position and the hire of aide Abbigayle Neubig. The roll call vote included Greg Emmert, Eric Flessner, Dennis Smith, Heather Roberts, Mark Learnard, Lori Starwalt and Betsy Daily; the motion carried with no nay votes.

The board approved retirement provisions that apply to two employees. The minutes record approval for the food service director, Darla Attutis, to retire at the end of the 2028–2029 school year with a 6% salary increase applied for the last three years. The minutes also record approval of a Title I teacher retirement at the end of the 2029–2030 school year with the same 6% salary‑increase provision; that employee is listed as Jessica Jenkins in one entry and as 'Jessika Jenkins' in a later entry of the minutes (transcript spelling inconsistent). The board recorded the HR approvals by roll call and the motion carried unanimously.
