The North Shore School District 112 Board of Education voted to approve an agreement with Peridad Educational Consulting for a K–5 Dual Language program evaluation in the amount of $141,613.38.
District administrators said the evaluation, recommended by the Dual Language Task Force Student Success subcommittee, will run about 24 weeks from March through September. The consultant team is expected to perform a multi‑phased review, including deep-dive data analysis, on-site observations and community engagement to provide actionable recommendations to guide the planned K–5 consolidation at Oak Terrace in 2027–28.
Dr. Michael Rodrigo and the district’s Director of Multilingual Learners, Mr. Castro, told the board that the committee issued an RFP, received 10 proposals and used a rubric-based review and reference checks before recommending Paridad (listed in materials as Paridad/Peridad). The board moved to approve the agreement (motion by Jaret Fishman; second by Lori Fink) and recorded AYES from Butler, Fink, Fishman, Hirsh, Kessler and Lasko.
The contract sum approved at the meeting — $141,613.38 — was the figure presented for board action. Board materials and the Task Force documents will guide next steps in vendor onboarding and community engagement.
