The Hernando County School Board voted to approve the 2026–27 student progression plan with a narrowly defined amendment to section 6, subsection 4. The amendment creates an exception to the three‑year attendance rule for students who complete the ACE and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, allowing those students to be eligible to compete for the 'veil and sal' designations referenced in the plan.
