The Alexandria Public Schools board adopted a resolution Jan. 26 directing administration to prepare recommendations for reduction and/or discontinuance of programs and positions and the reasons for them; the resolution passed 4–0.

Board Member Laura Knudsen moved that the board adopt a resolution directing administration to prepare recommendations regarding the reduction and/or discontinuance of programs and positions and the reasons therefor; Tracy Capistrant seconded the motion. The board adopted the resolution by recorded vote, Ayes 4, Nays 0. The resolution calls for administration to investigate and recommend specific program and staffing adjustments and to return with rationale for any proposed reductions.
