Former Clearfield mayor urges support for Riverside water hookups at Box Elder hearing

Don Wood, who opened his remarks by identifying his past service as a two-term mayor of Clearfield City and regional council chair, spoke in support of the Riverside water project at the Nov. 19 hearing. He told commissioners the lack of available water hookups prevents young families and small commercial ventures from staying and growing in the area and said the CDBG funds would be essential to planned development.
"It's essential for the Riverside community," Don Wood said, urging the commission to give serious consideration to the water hookup request. He framed the need as a barrier to housing and community facilities and told commissioners that while many applicants present worthy needs, the Riverside project qualifies as essential infrastructure that supports growth.
