The Select Board spent substantial time reviewing a draft intermunicipal agreement with Middlebury that would split maintenance of the covered bridge by lane and outline shared responsibilities. The draft assigns 'lane A' maintenance to Middlebury and 'lane B' to Weybridge, requires mutual notice for any bridge damage, and would make Middlebury the primary coordinator for inspections, insurance claims and systems maintenance (lighting, alarms). "They would reimburse 50% of the overhead cost," a board member summarized while discussing insurance and utility costs.
