Coryell County approved an interlocal contract with the University of Texas at Austin to join a regional security operations center (RSOC), which staff said could reduce current IT monitoring costs by about $1,400–$1,500 per month and provide state-backed cybersecurity monitoring and vendor support.

The court considered an interlocal agreement with the University of Texas at Austin to participate in a regional security operations center (RSOC). A presenter explained the RSOC program is a statewide initiative covering more than 3,100 entities — counties, school districts and other local agencies — and that the program could save the county roughly $1,400–$1,500 per month compared with the county's current arrangement.
