The Ottawa County Board of Commissioners voted Nov. 21 to direct the county administrator to develop and return to the board with a proactive strategy and timeline to evaluate converting the Ottawa County Department of Community Mental Health (CMH) into a stand‑alone authority. The motion, moved and seconded during a special meeting, passed after discussion and one recorded opposition.
