Council decides to fund Solid Waste salaries from General Fund for 2026
Auditor Diana Topping and council members agreed that Solid Waste salaries will be paid from the General Fund for 2026 after fund structure changes left salaries outside the new operational fund.

County Auditor Diana Topping explained that Commissioners had created fund 4013 for Solid Waste operations, but that fund was structured to exclude salaries because there was no guarantee sufficient balance would exist to cover payroll. She reported $400,000 was budgeted in the EDIT fund for recycling this year and that $150,000 was advertised in the General Fund to cover salaries.
