Planning Commission recommends allowing reduced setbacks by conditional use with amendments
Ordinance 01-26 was amended July 7, 2026 to allow decreases of front, side and rear yard setbacks by conditional use in agricultural districts; the Planning Commission removed the commercial/industrial portion and approved amended setback distances. The Planning Commission recommended approval of Ordinance 01-26 after amending setback distances and removing the Commercial/Industrial district portion. The ordinance would let property owners seek decreased front-yard, side-yard and rear-yard setbacks in agricultural districts through a conditional-use permit rather than a variance. The board amended the text to change front-yard decrease to 20 feet and side/rear-yard decreases to 25 feet in the amended language before recommending approval.
