Readstown board accepts resignation, appoints two trustees

The Readstown Village Board accepted a trustee resignation and immediately appointed two replacements during its Aug. 18 meeting.
Howell moved to accept Trustee Grisham’s resignation effective immediately; Goodwin seconded and the motion passed on a roll-call vote. Shortly afterward, Nash moved to appoint Brian Swenson and Robert Fletcher to fill the two vacancies; Howell seconded and the motion carried. "Residents were sworn in with an official oath," the minutes note.
The appointments restored the board’s membership before the meeting addressed several agenda items that required a full panel. The clerk recorded the roll call at the start of the meeting as Howell, Gander, Goodwin and Nash present; Brock was listed as not present. The newly appointed trustees joined the board for subsequent votes, including infrastructure and personnel matters.
The board set its next meeting for Sept. 12, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. and adjourned at 7:04 p.m. The minutes were signed by Clerk/Treasurer Chelsey Hoffman.
