City staff reported that public-works crews began inspections immediately after the storm, mowing canals overnight and using heavy equipment to remove vegetation and debris where needed. By 72 hours after the storm staff said the transportation and drainage systems had largely returned to pre-storm levels, though some canals remained high while crews continued clearing and debris removal.
