Troup County transit staff asked the Board of Commissioners to accept a FY27 GDOT operating grant totaling $696,156, saying four buses have met GDOT replacement thresholds and that bus replacements would be funded roughly 80% federal, 10% state and 10% county.

Glenn Downs, county transit staff, asked commissioners to approve acceptance of a FY27 Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) operating grant totaling $696,156, including a 50/50 match component for operating expenses. "The operating grant is a total grant of $696,156 total," Downs said, and he identified multiple local revenue sources that would contribute to the county share, including fares, accountability court fees and Department of Human Services fees.
