Commissioner Gwen Brown introduced proposed edits to the Kane County General Plan acknowledgments and chapter 1 language, saying she wanted to make it clear that "everyone has rights including the current residents." Planning staff (Shannon McBride) reviewed the changes that had been drafted.
Commissioners Patty Kubeja and Celeste Meyeres raised additional editing suggestions. The board did not adopt the amendment at the April 14 meeting and directed staff to return the item with revisions at a future meeting.
The discussion reflects an attempt to balance acknowledgments in the county plan; no ordinance number was adopted and no vote was taken on final language at this meeting.
