The Planning & Zoning recommendation to increase the initial time limit for a Conditional Use Permit from one year to two years was approved, and the commission also modified the ordinance's language.
The adopted text includes the instruction that "The Planning Commission shall grant extensions in increments of up to one year for good cause." Commissioner Celeste Meyeres moved to adopt the ordinance; the motion carried with all commissioners present voting in favor. After the vote, commissioners agreed to bring the item back to the April 28 meeting for final edits.
The change is intended to give applicants more time to pursue conditional uses while preserving the Planning Commission's authority to grant shorter incremental extensions for demonstrated cause.
