The Patrick County Board voted May 11 to adopt a revised Employee Rules & Regulations handbook recommended by OneDigital and county HR after a review of federal and state employment law updates. The board approved the handbook with the administration's recommended changes and set the effective date as July 1, 2026.
HR Director Donna Shough summarized the legal-compliance work and local policy updates and told the Board that "As of the March 2026 payroll, Patrick County had 167 active full-time employees and 25 permanent part-time employees." The update package reflects recommendations from the Blue Ridge Human Resource Association and OneDigital (a VACORP-associated consulting vendor) and incorporates administration edits reviewed by the County Administrator.
