The Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously to certify amendments to the 2015 Sweetwater County Zoning Resolution (Resolution 25-08-CC-05). Land use director Eric Bingham said the changes add campground regulations that vary inside and outside the growth management area and update wireless communications facility standards, including provisions for stealth facilities.
"We are adding campground regulations into the supplemental use, which will establish development criteria based on whether it's within the growth management area or outside," Bingham said, and he added that the wireless communication standards were revised to include height‑based standards and appropriate definitions. Bingham reported the 45‑day Administrative Procedure Act notice period had passed with no public comments and recommended the board certify the amendments. Commissioners approved certification and directed staff to proceed with the changes as filed.
The amendments are procedural and regulatory changes to the county zoning resolution; certification completes the local administrative step after the statutory notice period. The board did not identify outstanding litigation or appeals at the time of certification.
