The Economic Development Committee received an update on the riverfront master plan and related remediation work. Staff said they are preparing an RFQ/RFP for environmental professionals, engineers and architects to address former industrial parcels at Peterson Oil, the old sewage treatment plant and Jackson Corrugated, noting, "It's the $12,000,000 CIF grant." The RFP is expected to be issued within the next couple of weeks.
Committee members were informed the grant will fund remediation planning and consultant selection; staff described the update as informational and did not ask the committee to take immediate action. The parking study and forthcoming architectural analysis will inform the consultant scope.
