Comal County rescinds local disaster declaration, extends burn restrictions
After recent rains reduced local drought indices below the county's disaster threshold, commissioners rescinded the local disaster declaration; the court nonetheless extended the county burn ban and approved an order prohibiting outdoor burning in unincorporated areas.

County staff told commissioners that recent early-November rain had lowered local indices below the threshold used to maintain a local disaster declaration. "With the rain that we received in early November, we've dropped below the threshold that we look at for disaster declarations," the staff member said. The court approved rescinding the declaration.
