Comal County seeks antiquities permit for Blanco Road alignment study

Comal County staff told the court they are submitting an antiquities permit application to the Texas Historical Commission for the Blanco Road planning project to allow consultants to check for archaeological or cultural resources along the proposed alignment. "That will allow our consultants to go on site and see if there's any showstoppers on this proposed alignment for Blanco Road," Robert Boyd said while describing prior feasibility work and Golden‑cheeked Warbler habitat considerations.
The court approved the permit application and authorized the county judge to sign. Staff said prior feasibility and habitat studies have been done and the southern alignment requires further coordination with two main property owners in the corridor.
