Library seeks $4,301 for drop-box replacement, OCLC fee increases and higher processing costs

"On my budget for next year, I am requesting, a total of an increase for $4,301," Yasmin said, explaining $1,500 would cover a new outside drop box and improved signage for a Kemp sub-courthouse location that is frequently mistaken for mailboxes.
She told the court the OCLC cataloging vendor increased its annual fee and that the library is absorbing a 3% rise in processing costs from Brodart; Yasmin said replacing or adjusting the drop box and the modest software increases help the library meet state maintenance-of-effort requirements. Commissioners thanked the library staff and asked facilities to consider ramping or re-siting the drop box to prevent further damage.
