The legislature considered an appropriation and authorization (item 6092) to transfer up to $15,415,000 from undesignated fund balances and to allow the county executive to execute cooperative agreements with municipalities for infrastructure projects. The County Executive said the funds are needed to address deferred maintenance and municipal requests and urged moving the money so municipalities can proceed with bids. He told members "we have some crucial issues, here in Jackson County" and warned that delays could push projects beyond favorable construction windows.
